Dim-to-warm and tunable white both change the color of white light, but they do it in different ways and with different controls. A tunable white strip lets you set the color temperature independently of brightness, using a controller made for tunable white, so you can have warm light at full output or cool light dimmed low. How dim-to-warm works
A dim-to-warm strip is designed so that its color temperature follows its brightness. At full output it sits at its brighter, cooler-leaning setting, and as you dim it, the light automatically becomes warmer and more golden. You control it with a single compatible dimmer, and the warming happens on its own as part of dimming. The appeal is simplicity: one control, and a gentle shift toward a cozier appearance as the lights come down, similar to how a traditional bulb behaves. You cannot set warmth and brightness separately, because the two are linked by design.
