LED Controllers FAQ

1. What types of LED controllers do you offer?

We offer smart low-voltage LED controllers with WiFi and app control, as well as systems designed to work with standard phase-cut (TRIAC) wall dimmer switches.

2. What is a smart low-voltage LED controller used for?

Smart low-voltage controllers are used when app-based control, scenes, scheduling, or color control is needed. They are commonly used with RGB, RGB+CCT, and tunable white LED lighting.

3. What is phase-cut (TRIAC) dimming?

Phase-cut (TRIAC) dimming is the most common LED dimming method and works with standard wall dimmer switches. Dimming is controlled on the AC side using a compatible dimmable power supply.

4. When should I use a smart controller instead of a wall dimmer?

Use a smart controller for color control, tunable white adjustment, or app-based operation. Use a phase-cut wall dimmer for simple brightness control of single-color LED lighting.

5. Can smart controllers and wall dimmers be used together?

No. Smart low-voltage controllers and phase-cut wall dimmers are different control methods and should not be used together on the same circuit.

6. How do I choose the right LED controller?

Choosing the right LED controller depends on the LED type and how you want to control it. Color-changing or app-controlled lighting requires a smart controller, while simple dimming uses a phase-cut compatible system.
