CRI describes how closely a light source renders color against a reference source. That matters more in a gallery than almost anywhere else, because a red that drifts toward brown changes how the work reads on the wall. Ask for the CRI value, and the R9 figure where the manufacturer publishes one, then check both on the LED Club product page rather than assuming a whole family shares a number (verify these before you rely on them).
Consistency matters as much as the number. Hold one figure and one nominal color temperature across every wall, since two output series on facing walls show up on bare plaster long before anything is hung.
Washing a wall evenly rather than grazing it
Wall washing spreads a broad, flat field down a vertical surface. Grazing sits close to the wall and rakes across it to pull texture forward. Three variables do the work in a wash: setback from the wall, height of the run, and the lens in front of the tape. Too close and the top band burns out while the lower wall falls away. Prove the setback with an offcut before the ceiling detail is closed, because an inch of adjustment is free at first fix.
