Screens, glass, and how the room appears on camera
The failure everyone recognizes is a bright band reflected across a display or a glass partition. The test is simple: sit in every seat and look at the screen. If you can see the strip, it is in the reflection zone and has to move back, turn, or be shielded by the channel lip. A glass partition doubles it: the strip appears directly and in the reflection.
On camera, the concern is how the picture appears. Uplight from a cove reaches faces indirectly and avoids the hard top shadow a downward source produces, while a grazing run behind the camera keeps the background from going dark. Dimming scenes for presentation and for meeting
A conference room needs a handful of settings. Meeting keeps the cove up and the display wall moderate. Presentation drops the cove low and the display wall lower still, so nothing in the room competes with the screen. A setup setting runs everything to full.
Scenes are only as good as the dimming chain, so verify strip, driver, controller, and any wall control together before promising smooth low end behavior. Loads and protocol all have to agree. Do not put a low voltage smart controller and a phase cut wall dimmer on the same circuit unless the documentation explicitly allows it; treat them as separate methods and pick one per zone.
Zoning the room so each run is independent
Those three runs want different levels at different moments, so give each its own channel. For the cove, a dot free COB line reads cleanly against a flat ceiling. One suitable option for a medium output perimeter run is the LEDClub 24V COB 300 Series; check lumens per foot, watts per foot, CRI, and cut interval before specifying (verify before you rely on them). Format is a per product judgment driven by output, viewing distance, channel depth, diffuser, LED density, and control options.
Power, heat, and access above the ceiling
Add the cove, wall, and furniture runs into one total first. Driver capacity comes from watts per foot multiplied by installed feet, with at least 20 percent current headroom on top (verify the current guidance). Voltage is not negotiable: a 24V strip belongs on a 24V driver. Wire each zone back in parallel, never chained in series, so the far corner of the cove matches the near one. Strips produce heat and a shallow plaster cove traps it, so an aluminum channel earns its place: it helps dissipate heat, protects the tape, and reduces but does not guarantee removal of visible dots. It is not mandatory. Where a driver is hardwired, a junction box is involved, or a wall control is fitted, follow the manufacturer instructions, local code, and the NEC where applicable, and bring in a licensed electrician. Leave drivers reachable, because a sealed void above a fixed table is the worst place to hide a power supply.
