Reception and lobby LED lighting is the first thing a visitor reads about a business, so it has to do two jobs at once: look polished and reinforce the brand. Where reception and lobby LED lighting makes an impact

Three moves carry most reception areas. Brand color with RGB and tunable white

If the brand has a signature color, an RGB and tunable white strip can carry it while still delivering usable white light for everyday operation. The channel also helps with heat, since strips generate heat in use and aluminum helps dissipate it, and with a diffuser it softens the line and reduces but does not guarantee removal of visible dots, which also depend on LED density, channel depth, and diffuser.

Durability and maintenance access

A lobby runs its lighting long hours, so plan for the long haul. Match voltage exactly: a 24V strip needs a 24V driver, never a 12V supply. Size the driver from the strip's watts per foot times the installed length, add current headroom of at least 20 percent (verify), and wire constant-voltage runs in parallel so the desk and wall stay even. The detail installers forget is access: leave a way to reach drivers, controllers, and connections without dismantling the desk or opening the wall, so a failed section is a quick swap. Any hardwired driver, junction box, or wall control at line voltage is work for a qualified electrician where local code requires it, so follow the product instructions, local code, and the NEC where it applies.
