This flexibility depends on the whole system: a tunable white strip needs a matching tunable white controller and a driver of the correct voltage. RGB

An RGB strip mixes red, green, and blue diodes to produce colored light and color-changing effects. It is built for color, so it is the type behind accent color, scenes, and mood lighting.

One point worth understanding: an RGB strip creates white by blending all three colors at once, and that blended white is not the same as a dedicated white LED. If accurate, natural white light matters for the space, RGB alone is usually not the right pick. RGBW

RGBW adds a fourth channel, a dedicated white diode, alongside the red, green, and blue. That gives you color when you want it and a cleaner, more usable white when you do not, without relying on mixed-color white.

The white channel on an RGBW strip is itself a fixed temperature set by the product, so check whether a given strip uses a warm or a cool white before choosing.
