LED density is the number of LEDs packed into each length of a strip, usually stated per foot or per meter. It matters because closer spacing produces a smoother, more continuous line of light, while wider spacing can leave visible dots or a slightly uneven look. Density influences the finished appearance more than most buyers expect, and it works together with the strip type, the channel, and the diffuser to determine how clean the light looks.

What LED density means
Density describes how many individual light-emitting points sit along the strip. A strip with more LEDs per foot spreads its light more evenly, so the eye sees a continuous line rather than separate points. A strip with fewer LEDs per foot has gaps between the points, which can appear as dots, especially up close or against a reflective surface.
Density is set by the product, so read the LEDs-per-foot or LEDs-per-meter figure on the strip's page rather than assuming it. It is a separate spec from brightness and color temperature, though it interacts with how the finished light looks.
