Door and motion switching, checked before you buy
The convenience people want is light that appears when they walk in and off when they leave. A door switch or an occupancy sensor can do that, but neither capability is universal, so confirm the specific control supports door or motion switching at your strip's voltage and load. Strips give off heat, and a closed wardrobe has less airflow than an open room. An aluminum channel helps dissipate that heat and protects the tape from hangers and sleeves; it is not mandatory, and it reduces but does not guarantee removal of visible dots.
