Your LED Setup in 5 Simple Steps
STEP 1: PICTURE YOUR SPACE
Start by thinking about where and how you want to use your lighting. Are you adding bright task lighting under kitchen cabinets, creating a clean glow along a ceiling or cove, or setting the mood in your living room or outdoor space?

STEP 2: CONTROL YOUR LIGHTING
Choose how you want to adjust and manage your LED lighting. Depending on your setup, you can use a wall dimmer, wireless remote, smart controller, or app-based control to adjust brightness, color temperature, or colors.
For static white LED strip lights, pair a compatible dimmable LED driver with a wall dimmer for smooth brightness control. For tunable white, RGB, RGBW, or RGB+CCT lighting, choose a compatible LED controller and remote or smart control system that matches your strip type.

STEP 3: POWER YOUR LIGHTS
LED strip lights run on low-voltage DC power, so you’ll need a compatible LED driver or power supply. For simple installations, a plug-in power supply offers an easy setup, while hardwired drivers are ideal for more permanent, integrated lighting projects.
Make sure your driver matches the voltage of your LED strip and provides enough wattage for the total length of your installation. Also consider whether your project is in a dry indoor space or a wet or outdoor location when selecting the appropriate power supply.

STEP 4: CONNECT YOUR SYSTEM
Bring your LED lighting system together with the right connectors, wires, and accessories. Depending on your project, you may need strip-to-wire connectors, strip-to-strip connectors, extension wire, or other connection accessories to create a clean and reliable installation.
Make sure your connectors match your LED strip’s width, number of pins, and lighting type—whether Static White, Tunable White, RGB, or RGB+CCT. For more customized installations, wires can also be used to connect strips to drivers, controllers, and other components throughout your lighting system.
STEP 5: INSTALL YOUR LIGHTING
Choose the right placement and mounting method to get the best results from your LED strip lights. Depending on your project, strips can be installed under cabinets, inside coves, along shelves, in recessed areas, or as part of architectural lighting designs.
For a cleaner, more professional finish, pair your LED strips with a compatible aluminum channel and diffuser. The right channel helps protect the strip, keeps the installation organized, and creates a smoother, more finished lighting effect.
