When a device will not pair
Most pairing failures come down to a few causes. The timing window may have closed before you pressed the button, so cut power to the receiver, restore it, and press the pairing button again promptly. The remote’s battery may be weak, which shortens range and reliability, so try a fresh battery before assuming a fault. You may also be out of range or blocked, or the receiver may still hold an old pairing that you clear first.
Clearing a pairing, sometimes called unlearning, usually has its own sequence in the manual, often a button hold or a power cycle with a long press (verify the exact reset method for your device before relying on it). Pairing cannot fix a mismatch underneath it.
